How does the Bible describes God opinion of the scent of the altar of burnt sacrifice? Why does God describe or relate to the scent of the sacrifice like this? Please share text and reasoning. Thanks

In Leviticus 1:17 the Bible describes God's Opinion of the scent of the altar of burnt sacrifice as a sweet savor. I believe He relates to the scent as a sweet savour because, the sacrifice is pure, honest, and true, meaning the sacrifice was given willingly and as God commended. In other words the person bring the sacrifice has truly repented and his scent is sweet and the lord is pleased. True repentance is of a sweet savour.
