Psalm 3:7-8  Arise, o Lord; Save me, o my God! For You have struck all my enemies on the cheekbone; You have broken the teeth of the ungodly. Salvation belongs to the Lord. Your blessings is upon Your people. (Selah)

David words here is definite, “You have struck all my enemies on the cheekbone”. Although the enemies of God’s people might be many, we believe in God’s power to overthrow them. David’s move to send Hushai the Archite to defeat the counsel of Ahithophel had success (2 Samuel 17:14) and Ahithophel knowing that if Absalom followed Hushai plans, defeat would be certain; So 2 Samuel 17:23 states “Now when Ahithophel saw that his advice was not followed, he saddled a donkey, and arose and went home to his house, to his city. Then he put his household in order, and hanged himself, and died; and he was buried in his father’s tomb”. And as you read the rest of the story you see that the counsel of Hushai and his actions, helped brought about Absalom defeat. It is wise to take inventory of the people in our lives that gives us advice. Their advice often times spells our success or our defeat in the game of life. Although we know that God is for us, we must not underestimate the power of the enemy; so always make wise decisions. David closes by saying, “Salvation belongs to the Lord. Your blessings is upon Your people”. (Selah, amen)
